A Story that Defrosts Hearts

Snowman

And a reminder of why it’s important to stay in touch!

Oxford Fertility is home to 11,671 straws of sperm, 569 eggs and 11,066 embryos. We carefully keep them at -196oC, ready for when you’re ready to start treatment here or further afield.

Starting a family couldn’t have been further from one patient’s mind, when he stored his sperm with us 22 years ago. But now, more than 10,000 miles away, he’s sent us a reminder of why it was worth keeping in touch, giving us permission each year to keep freezing his sperm and paying the annual storage fee. He’s now starting IVF and reports that his sperm has stood the test of time and travel…

“At the age of 17 and freshly diagnosed with high grade cancer, I was fortunate enough to be directed to Oxford Fertility and I am glad I was.”

I want to share my gratitude with the entire team for making it possible for us to even try having a family now

“After 22 years of your team storing my sperm, and then helping to get that sperm transported over to Austria earlier this year where I now live. This week we tried IVF for the first time and I was really worried that my sperm would not be viable.”

“I want to share my gratitude with the entire team for making it possible for us to even try having a family now. I even regret cursing you every year, when the annual dreaded invoice arrived, particularly in my younger years. ;)”

Every year we carefully check each patient’s permission to continue to freeze. So, please keep us updated with any moves you make, and keep paying your invoice, so that one day we can hear how you are defrosting to start building your future family.
